Hello Lovely!
Happy Wednesday! In the spirit of the holidays, I though it would be fun to share a few of our favorite children’s holiday books with you! Reading is a big part of my daily routine with the girls & they are loving the new imagery & content in our holiday book collection! We have a mixture of books from my childhood, along with a few new books. Here are the five we are currently reading.
Clockwise beginning from the top left:
1) The Little Reindeer, by Nicola Killen tells a sweet, magical story of a little girl & her adventure with one of Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve. The illustrations in this book are so lovely & it is a quick read.
2) The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore is a Christmas classic! This particular book is from my childhood collection & I am so thankful that my mom saved it & I can now share it with my children! There are a number of different versions of this story, but I love the vintage quality & illustrations in this one.
3) Leffy’s Christmas Gift, by Lizzie Walkley. This is one of the sweetest Christmas books I have ever read. It is about a thoughtful little elf who tries to find the perfect gift for Santa.
4) The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore. This is the same classic tale as number 2 on the list, but with completely different illustrations. It also has several pages in the back of the book for the girls to write down their favorite Christmas memories throughout the years. This version would make a beautiful gift and/or keepsake for anyone with children. **Side note, the version I received is missing the letter “m” in the to/from portion in the front of the book. I don’t really mind this & I feel like it may make the book more collectible because of the printing error.
5) The Nutcracker, by E.T.A. Hoffman. This is another timeless tale for this holidays. What I love about this version is that it is a pop-up book! I do have to be careful not to let the girls pull too hard on the pop-up illustrations, but they are so fascinated by the artwork!
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you are enjoying the beautiful holiday season. What are some of your favorite children’s books for the holidays? I am always adding to our collection & would love to hear which books are your favorites in the comments section below!
Yours Truly, Victoria
