Bonjour chérie!!
Bienvenue to Arya & Ayla’s Parisian themed playroom! For as long as I can remember, I have loved all things Parisian! My parents took my brother & I to Paris for the first time when I was six years old. I still remember the first time I saw La Tour Eiffel, ate macarons from Ladurée, & visited the Château de Versailles! Since then, I have been fortunate enough to return to the city number of times & even studied abroad there for a summer.
Although nothing can replace the experience of physically traveling to a destination, I hope I have brought some of the magic of Paris to our home for Arya & Ayla to enjoy! It has taken me several weeks to complete this space, & while I am still planning to add in a few more decorative pieces & design elements down the road, I am quite happy with the way it is all coming together! When I saw this Parisian Street Mural, I instantly knew I wanted to design the space around it! I worked directly with Anewall decor to have custom self-adhesive vinyl panels created to fit our space. If you are looking for unique wallpaper or vinyl panels, I highly recommend checking out their selection. A few of my favorite designs they currently have available are the Magnolia Wallpaper - Chinoiserie, Ballroom Wallpaper, Sweet Laurel Mural, Ships Wallpaper, Venice Wallpaper, & the Shaded Landscape Wallpaper.
As I mentioned in my inspiration/idea board post, my goal has always been to create a magical space that sparks their curiosity, imagination, & ultimately fosters a love for learning! I attended a Montessori Academy while growing up & truly believe that my curiosity & love for learning have stuck with me throughout the years as a result of my time there. I created these Montessori inspired play shelves/cubbies for the girls by using a bookshelf I found at IKEA & laying it on its side. Arya & Ayla spend the majority of their time in the playroom either reading books, running/dancing around, or tinkering with the toys I have put in these cubbies. I make it a point to rotate their toys out once a week, which helps keep things interesting for them & reduces the amount of toys I purchase.
These Parisian inspired storage boxes are from Gold Frankincense + Myrrh & they are one of my favorite finds!
The girls absolutely love looking up at the hot air balloons & clouds! They are always pointing up & asking me “what’s that”, so I try my best to explain how a hot air balloon works & lift them up for a closer look. If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have already seen my tutorial for the clouds I made. They are simple, but add just a bit more charm to the space & work well with both the mural & hot air balloons!
This Parisian inspired restaurant playhouse from Crate & Kids is très adorable! The girls have been having so much fun with it & I love watching them use their imaginations. It also comes with banners for a BBQ shop, which would be fun to use during the summer!
How cute are these braided poufs?
Well, that concludes our tour of Arya & Ayla’s Parisian themed playroom! I am so grateful to have such a beautiful & safe space for the girls to play in as we continue social distancing. I hope you are staying safe & that this has brought a bit of joy to your day!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Au revoir, Victoria
